Student Loan Servicers

Your student loan servicer is the company who provides customer service for your loan(s), answers your questions, helps you with repayment plans and processes your student loan payments. Your loans may be with a particular servicer because:

  • The Department of Education designated certain servicers to provide customer service for Federal Direct Loans.
  • You originated your loan with a particular lender who selected the servicer.
  • Your lender sold your loan to the Department of Education who selected your servicer.
  • Your lender sold your loan to a student loan company who now owns and services the loan.

You may have multiple loans with multiple student loan servicers - how do you find out who they are? You may visit https://studentaid.gov for an overview of all of your federal student loans. You will need your FSA ID to access the information. If you don't have an FSA ID you can request one while you’re on this site.
